Exploring works written in turbulent times, TCS’s 2022-23 season opens with a world premiere by Michael Boyman, plus works by Grażyna Bacewicz, Richard Strauss, and Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Margaret Bonds’s Montgomery Variations and the New York premiere of Sam Wu’s Wind Map showcase the power of movement in multiple forms in TCS’s all-American October series.

TCS reflects on home and tradition with annual holiday favorites including Aaron Dai’s The Night Before Christmas and Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride, each featuring special guests.

Se Souvenir, or “to remember” in English, presents an all-French program featuring three fascinating works nearly lost to history by Augusta Holmès, Paule Maurice, and Fernande Decruck.

TCS’s March series journeys through works inspired by travel, featuring Brahms’s Symphony No. 2 and works for solo with orchestra by Ernest Chausson, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and Vivian Fung.

In collaboration with composer Shuying Li, TCS presents Li’s World Map in concert, featuring members of the Four Corners Ensemble in an evening of concertos originally written for and recorded by them.

TCS’s season closes with a powerful examination of time and historic parallels with Dmitri Shostakovich’s dark and complex Symphony No. 11, plus contemporary American brass concertos by Adolphus Hailstork and Jay Krush.
