The Chelsea Symphony is a self-governing, egalitarian ensemble that presents music of the highest caliber while upending the traditional hierarchy of the classical orchestra. Our musicians rotate as featured soloists, conductors, and composers, and our administrative operations are also managed by members of the ensemble.

TCS has made a strong cultural impact in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood. In what would be our fifteenth season, postponed by COVID, we are working on video projects including performing arts programming for the NYC Department of Correction's tablet system for incarcerated New Yorkers, professional development webinars, and activities to support Black Lives Matter including an orchestral social justice working group and a book club focusing around themes of antiracism.
