December 2 Holiday Concert

Friday | 12.2.16 | 8:00 PM
St. Paul's Church

The Chelsea Symphony's one-night-only holiday concert features actress CAROLINE RHEA as special guest narrator in an annual TCS tradition, the performance of resident composer Aaron Dai's "The Night Before Christmas." The concert opens with the delightful dance-inspired piece in three short movements, Straussiana, by Erich Wolfgang Korngold followed by Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat Major featuring E.J. Lee on violin and Brian Thompson on viola. Respighi's Adagio con variazioni showcasing Hsuanyu I on cello begins the second half of the concert followed by holiday favorites "March of the Toys" by Victor Herbert from "Babes in Toyland" and an arrangement of Irving Berlin's beloved "White Christmas." Tim Miller returns to the TCS podium as guest conductor for another holiday favorite, "Sleigh Ride."

A silent auction in support of the orchestra will take place before the downbeat and during intermission, concluding during a festive wine reception following the concert. Start your holiday season with TCS!
