Dirk Wels
Dirk Wels, a native of Weimar, Germany, enjoys a diverse performing career on flute, bassoon and recorder, both modern and historical. Before relocating to New York City, he pursued studies in Berlin and later in Luxembourg, where he was principal bassoon of the Orchestre de Chambre de Luxembourg for four years. Dirk has played with ensembles such as Bacchanalia Baroque, Bach Vespers at Holy Trinity, Baroquelyn, Camerata New York, Chamber Orchestra of New York, Classical Nomads, Distinguished Concerts Orchestra, Delaware Symphony, Double Entendre Music Ensemble, Garden State Philharmonic, Greater Bridgeport Symphony, Handel+Haydn Society Boston, La Fiocco, Music at Co-Cathedral (MACC), New England Symphonic Ensemble, New York Baroque Incorporated, Norwalk Symphony, Palisades Sinfonietta, SEM Ensemble, The Chelsea Symphony, Trinity Baroque Orchestra, Queens Consort, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra (Toronto, CA) and Washington Square Festival Orchestra.
