The Chelsea Symphony presents its tenth anniversary season finale at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music featuring Mahler’s epic First Symphony. Sunday will feature Rick Quantz on the viola in the NYC premiere of Takemitsu’s "imaginary landscape" A String Around Autumn, originally commissioned for the bicentennial of the French Revolution. On Saturday, hear Rebekah Butler perform Michael Daugherty’s violin concerto Fire and Blood inspired by Diego Rivera's seminal mural "Detroit Industry." Co-Artistic Directors Mark Seto and Matthew Aubin conduct.

Violinist Rebekah Butler has appeared as a soloist with the Arizona and Weber State Symphonies, Orpheus Mens' and Tucson Boys' Choruses, and in Capital Classics Shakespeare productions. She has participated in festivals across the United States, Mexico, Canada, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, France, and China. Rick Quantz is an active freelance violist in the New York City area, performing orchestral, chamber, and solo music. He is a core member of the Gusto Chamber Players, and has performed with groups including: The Dream Unfinished, Halcyon Chamber Series, Mimesis Ensemble, ChamberMusicNY, and Cadillac Moon Ensemble. Rick serves as principal viola in the Garden State Philharmonic, Adelphi Symphony, and Dell'Arte Opera Ensemble, and has played with orchestras such as the Binghamton Philharmonic and Lancaster Symphony.
