Rick Quantz

Viola

Rick Quantz is an active freelance violist in the New York City area, performing orchestral, chamber, and solo music. He is a core member of the Gusto Chamber Players, and has performed with groups including: The Dream Unfinished, Halcyon Chamber Series, Mimesis Ensemble, ChamberMusicNY, and Cadillac Moon Ensemble. Rick serves as principal viola in the Garden State Philharmonic, Adelphi Symphony, and Dell'Arte Opera Ensemble, and has played with orchestras such as the Binghamton Philharmonic and Lancaster Symphony. In the summer of 2016 he will be rejoining the pit of The Golden Bride for a follow up to their successful run in 2015.

Rick is founder and co-artistic director of Bushwick Chamber Concerts, a concert series dedicated to serving the Bushwick community. He is also a member of the band, GABI – Pitchfork called their debut album, released on Software Records in 2015, “so beautiful it’s almost frightening.” Rick studied at the Eastman School of Music with John Graham, Rice University's Shepherd School of Music with Karen Ritscher, and NYU with Stephanie Baer.
