Sarah Elizabeth Haines is a New York City-based violist, violinist, vocalist, songwriter, and performer. She is a core member of Contemporaneous, leads the Brooklyn-based Americana group Bellehouse with Jessica Clinton, and is violist and vocalist for bands Emanuel and the Fear and Kenyon Phillips + The Ladies in Waiting, with whom she performs in the burlesque circus glam rock opera The Life and Death of Kenyon Phillips. She performed in Todd Almond’s Kansas City Choir Boy starring Courtney Love and was the violist for the premiere and original cast recording of Jenny Schwartz and Todd Almond’s Iow@ at Playwrights Horizons. Music making has brought her to North and South America, Europe, and Asia, and she has recorded music for different composers, producers, arrangers and songwriters around the city and surrounding area, including Philip Glass, Jherek Bischoff, Guards, and Sufjan Stevens. Sarah completed her Bachelor of Music at New York University.
