Kelly Jo Breczka
Kelly Jo is an oboist with a background in both music performance and education. After receiving her bachelor's degree and NYS Music Certification, K-12, she continued on to obtain her master's degree and an artist diploma for oboe performance at the Hartt school and SUNY Purchase, respectively. During her education, she studied with Humbert Lucarelli, Dr. Sarah Hamilton, Ron Richards, Charles Huang and Mark Dubois. She has lived and worked in New York City, playing with groups such as the Chelsea Symphony and the Nova Philharmonic. Kelly has participated with many chamber groups, including Music Among Friends, a standing quintet in Gloversville, New York performing a yearly concert and masterclass series. Kelly has played in the pits for several musicals and operas, including L'elisir d'amore , La Boheme, Cendrillion, West Side Story, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Beauty and the Beast, and Fiddler on the Roof to name a few. Kelly has successfully taught students as part of masterclasses and coursework through her degree programs, preparing them for auditions and concerts. She has been part of the premier of new music, including Jennifer Higdon's Road Stories and Tera Cruda by Susan Botti.
