Juliana Pereira has been playing the violin since the age of three. A New York City native, Juliana studied at the School for Strings where she is currently a member of the Board of Trustees. As an undergraduate at Brown University, Juliana was the concertmaster of the orchestra and is the only student to win the Brown University Concerto Competition three times. She also served as co-concert master of the Sorbonne University Orchestra in Paris while studying abroad her Junior year. In New York City she has performed with ensembles at Carnegie Hall, Avery Fischer Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Symphony Space. Juliana frequently plays and performs chamber music and participates in the Chamber Music Conference and Composers’ Forum at Bennington College every summer. Outside of music, Juliana is an avid runner, having completed 4 marathons. She is also an active volunteer for the New York Women's Foundation and serves as a Team Leader for the Grants Advisory Committee, a participatory grant-making process that leverages the talents of local women to find and support effective community-driven programs. Juliana is an experienced digital media and marketing executive currently serving as Vice President of Marketing at Smartling, a New York-based tech startup. Juliana holds a B.A. from Brown University and M.A. from the New School.
