Christa Somers is a NYC based clarinetist. A graduate of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Richie Hawley and Mark Nuccio, Christa has performed throughout New York City and beyond with groups such as the Chelsea Symphony, New York Repertory Orchestra, Brooklyn Conservatory Community Orchestra, Metro Chamber Orchestra, Blue Hill Troupe, One World Symphony, Hunter Symphony Orchestra, New Amsterdam Symphony, International Contemporary Ensemble, DiCapo Opera, Harlem Chamber Players, Richmond Symphony, and the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. Christa currently spends most of her time parenting and supporting practice sessions for three budding musicians that attend Special Music School, a NYC public school that provides students with rigorous music education. Christa fell in love with the deep, rich, buzzy, resonating sound of the the bass clarinet, and she’s honored to share this work by Geraldine Green.
