Anna Keelin Fitzgerald

Bassoon

Bassoonist Anna Fitzgerald is a passionate performer, dedicated educator, and strong arts advocate. She maintains an active schedule, performing throughout New York City and along the East Coast in venues which have included Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, The Cutting Room, The Bushnell Performing Arts Center, The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, and Meymandi Concert Hall with such varying ensembles as the New York Repertory Orchestra, Les Six Sextet, The Handel Festival Orchestra, Western Piedmont Symphony, The Chelsea Symphony, and the rock band Kansas.

Anna is also a Certified Member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing. Having retired from her successful competitive career as a Premier Highland Dancer, she founded the New York City School of Scottish Dance. Currently, Anna holds the Performance Coordinator position and is a Dancer with the New York branch of the international dance company Shot of Scotch.

A North Carolina native, Anna holds a Bachelor of Music from Appalachian State University, a Master of Music from The Hartt School, and a Professional Studies Diploma from Mannes College. Her primary teachers have included John Pederson, Dr. Jon Beebe, and Marc Goldberg. She currently serves as a faculty member at the Mozartina Conservatory of Music.
