Amy Chryst is a violinist based in New York City. She received her BM in violin performance from Ithaca College where she studied with Calvin Weirsma, and Nicholas DiEugenio.

After graduation Amy taught for five years at an arts highschool; teaching strings, chamber music, and music history. During this time she was also actively performing and teaching privately.

In 2022 Amy moved to New York, to pursue a masters in violin. She attended NYU, where she studied with Giora Schmidt, and Cyrus Beroukhim.

During her studies Amy continued to actively perform and teach. She also began working at a luthier shop, where she continues to enjoy learning more about incredible instruments and the fascinating people that come along with them.

Since completing her master's Amy has had a wide range of varied performance opportunities across the US, but always looks forward to performing in NYC, which now feels like home.

For Amy, playing with the Chelsea Symphony is particularly meaningful. Five years ago was the first concert that she played with the orchestra. And playing alongside these musicians sparked a curiosity, and desire to always continue to grow, both as a violinist and as a person.
