After being inspired by a peer playing “Jingle Bells” at a holiday recital, 5-year old Allison immediately demanded a violin from her percussionist father and could frequently be found following her older brother around their childhood home in Indiana playing “Hot Cross Buns” for him.

Allison earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance with a minor in Psychology from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana where she studied with Professor Larry Shapiro and served as Concertmaster for the Butler Symphony Orchestra. She was also concertmaster and soloist for the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Stanley DeRusha.

After graduating, Allison moved to New Jersey to become a 3rd grade teacher in Newark. She then went on to receive her Master’s in Social Work from New York University and currently serves public schools in New York City through the Child Mind Institute. She is a Concertmaster for the Greenwich Village Orchestra, a member of Chelsea Symphony, co-founder and Artistic Director of the Brooklyn Chamber Players and has played with multiple ensembles throughout New York City including the Brio Artist Collective, the String Orchestra of Brooklyn, Grace Chorale, Litha Symphony, and SORA String Quartet. She’s forever humbled to share music with you.
