The Chelsea Symphony continues its thirteenth season RESOLUTION: MUSIC OF SOCIAL ACTION by welcoming co-founder Yaniv Segal back in a unique dual role as conductor and arranger.

This special concert is anchored by Beethoven's seminal Symphony No. 3, known as the "Eroica." Accompanying this work on both concerts is also A Fidelio Symphony, a new multi-movement arrangement by Yaniv Segal.

Preceding the Beethoven second half, Yaniv will take the podium to conduct solo violist David Bojanowski for Paul Hindemith's Trauermusik on Friday night and violin soloist Phong Ta for the US premiere of Flight, Concerto for Violin and Strings, by Oliver Davis.

Concerts will be held at St. Paul's German Lutheran Church, 315 West 22nd Street

Phong is grateful to be returning this season as a soloist with The Chelsea Symphony in Oliver Davis’ Flight – Concerto for Violin and Strings.

As an undergraduate student at Lehigh University studying molecular biology, he was awarded the Baker Gifted Arts Scholarship for violin performance. Paul Hindemith: Trauermusik (Friday only)


David Bojanowski has been explaining what a viola is since he was 10 years old. A dedicated chamber and orchestral musician, he performs regularly with The Chelsea Symphony, Park Avenue Chamber Symphony, and serves as principal violist of the 92nd Street Y School of Music Orchestra.

Mark Seto leads a wide-ranging musical life as a conductor, scholar, teacher, and violinist. He is Artistic Director and Conductor of The Chelsea Symphony in New York City, and Senior Lecturer in Music at Brown University, where he directs the Brown University Orchestra and teaches courses in music history, theory, and conducting. Recent highlights include performances with violinist Itzhak Perlman, violinist Randall Goosby, and clarinetist Anthony McGill, and the inauguration of The Lindemann Performing Arts Center at Brown University.
