Three Unmerry Men
Our October series explores Shakespeare at his most dramatic, in Beethoven's brooding Coriolan Overture, Walton's contemplative Henry V, and Shostakovich's bracing Hamlet Suite. Allison Nicotera and Bert Hill are featured in Lachner's delightful Concertino for Bassoon and Horn, and Theresa Rice solos on Mozart's Concerto No. 4 for Horn. A new work by TCS composer Tim Kiah rounds out the program, The Phoenix and the Turtle, inspired by the eponymous Shakespearean sonnet.

Reuben Blundell has been a Chelsea Symphony conductor/violinist since 2012, enjoying collaborations with musicians, soloists, composers and other conductors. Conducting Aaron Dai’s The Night Before Christmas, first with B. D. Wong then Annie Golden narrating, he initiated, conducted and edited (in Premiere Pro) the orchestra’s 2020 remote performance, narrated by John Lithgow.

Mark Seto leads a wide-ranging musical life as a conductor, scholar, teacher, and violinist.
