Hornist Emily Wong has been with TCS since 2009, joined the board in 2011, and was elected president of the board in 2013. In addition to actively freelancing in the NYC metropolitan area, Emily has performed on the stages of Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, and Carnegie Hall and most recently in NYC with the String Orchestra of Brooklyn, Union City Philharmonic Orchestra, the Richmond County Orchestra, One World Symphony, and Ensemble 212. She has also performed around the city with chamber groups Gotham Winds, The Chelsea Winds, and the Metro Brass Quintet and has worked with the students of the InterSchool Orchestras of New York. In addition to being a hornist and president for TCS, she serves on the board of the Look & Listen Festival (www.lookandlisten.org). Emily earned a BM in Horn from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MM in Horn and entered doctoral candidacy at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where her principal teachers were Michael Hatfield, Rick Seraphinoff, and Jeff Nelsen. Emily lives in Brooklyn.
