The Chelsea Symphony kicks off its ninth season, Play On, with works that celebrate two Shakespeare comedies. The program features Mendelssohn's effervescent overture to A Midsummer Night's Dream and two works based on Much Ado About Nothing: Berlioz's Overture to Béatrice et Bénédict and Korngold's suite of incidental music for the play. Violinist Nell Flanders performs the solo in Chausson's Poème, inspired by a novella by Ivan Turgenev.

Mark Seto leads a wide-ranging musical life as a conductor, scholar, teacher, and violinist. He is Artistic Director and Conductor of The Chelsea Symphony in New York City, and Senior Lecturer and Director of Undergraduate Studies in Music at Brown University, where he directs the Brown University Orchestra and teaches courses in music history, theory, and conducting.
